2008 Riverton Utah Report

Mission Utah, July 4-14, 2008. Utah is a state where Mormons have control of most everything. A percentage of 62% of the people in Utah are affiliated with the Mormon Church. Most everyone you meet seems to be connected in some way to the Mormon Church; which makes it very difficult to spread the word of God. Baptist Churches in Utah struggle to survive in this environment. Trinity partnered with South Valley Baptist Church and Bro. Stan Felder, NAMB strategist. Our assignment was a multiple assignment: 1- We worked in backyard bible clubs. 2-We conducted V.B.S. both for kids and adults. This kept us very busy from 9:00am to 10:00pm, our teams worked hard at the many responsibilities we had. It was a sad sight when we would give invitations at the block parties; kids would come forward to receive Christ, and then many times, their parents would come and take them away before we had the opportunity to share Jesus with them. We were still able to win 5-10 to Jesus Christ. We know God will bless our efforts and we had a wonderful time working with our Utah Baptist Brothers. Team members were: Bro. Jimmy & Glenda May, Lisa-T.J.-Micah-Caleb-Nathan Tolbert, Terry-Suzan-David Riddle, Larry Holbrook, Sharon Ward, Sharon Messenger, Darla Neasbitt, Dayna-Doug-Jackie-Abbey Stephens, Kevin-Jackie-Wyatt-Elizabeth Gill, Amber Lindsey, Greg Miller
